Nathan Basset is an up-and-coming glass based artist currently pursuing a degree in Studio Arts from the University of North Texas. Born in Bedford, Texas, Nathan is heavily influenced by a childhood filled with family photobooks and point & shoot cameras. Unimpressed with the ever-invasive stride towards clinical sharpness found in modern cameras, a preference towards rediscovering past methods and technology returns an element of personality to his images. 

Dutch angle, also known as Dutch tilt, canted angle, vortex plane, oblique angle, or a Durkin, is a type of camera shot that involves setting the camera at an angle so that the shot is composed with vertical lines at an angle to the side of the frame, or so that the horizon line of the shot is not parallel with the bottom of the frame.
